DStripped

I just did my first personal piece for DStripped Magazine, the online magazine I write for monthly. I am so proud of it and I think it turned out wonderfully. I get so excited every time I see my writing out there somewhere and love the opportunity to write for such a cool magazine and work with some really rad people. The stories on there are phenomenal and the other writers are just outstanding. So, if you've got a chance, check out my article and the other amazing articles as well. I'm a real writer and it feels so good! I'M A WRITER (I just can't get over that, FINALLY!!)

  3. Your article is very touching and one, I imagine, was very difficult to write. My husband is in the USMC and on his third deployment. I cannot even imagine what you have gone through.

Congrats on being a REAL writer! :-)

  7. WOW! I just read it (besides your blog I've never read anything of yours before). You're an incredibly talented writer; you really know how to get your point across with the written language! Keep it up, I'll be excited to read your future works. :)

  8. I loved the article! So full of emotion! I can completely relate to that bond that you for with fellow widows. I feel the same way about all of my baby loss moms I have met. I love the feeling that they just "get" you! Also, something else we babyloss moms and you gold star wives share is that we refer to the day our babie went to heaven as "angelversaries" I LOVED this when I first heard it, because it was so morbid to say "the day my baby died", and i couldn't celebrate a birthday, because she was technically dead before she was born, so that word means so much to all of us!
You are one strong cookie! I admire you! Keep up the writing, you have a promising future in it!

  19. i just wanted to say that my prayers go out to you and your daughter for the loss of your husband. I read your story on the online magazine. You did a wonderful job, my heart goes out to you for being so strong and trying to move on. Your life story and how you met your husband was portayed fairy tale and dream come true to any lucky girl. It brought tears to my eyes because being a marine wife, we all go through deployments with our spouses and its hard and that something could happen. Good luck in 2011!

  21. You don't know me, but I've been silently following your blog for many months now. I came across it one day, as it was a favourited link on a friend's blog I read.

I just wanted to say your piece for DStripped Magazine was beautifully written. I don't cry often when I read articles or personal stories. But your blogs are so well written and I often find myself with tears rolling down my cheeks after I finish them.

I am a year younger then you, and amazed at how strong you are. Today I lost a family member, and reading blogs like yours are inspiring. They give you hope, amoung other things.

I hope you continue to write professionally, because you're very, very good at it. Best wishes with school, I just completed cosmetology school last year. It's so rewarding in the end.

  22. That article was perfectly written, I loved it! It pulled & tugged & yanked at my heart strings, & even tho my cheeks are soaked from tears - I still think that was a really great article. =) lol It takes a lot of guts to open up like that, so I wanted to praise you for that. &I just love you to pieces. LOL I know we don't really KNOW each other, but I just do. Hugs hugs hugs *mwah* lol
I also loved the previous post about praying & thanking God just to thank him for everything. Sometimes it's really hard for us when we feel so let down to say thank you for it all. That takes FAITH. Hang on to that. We all need it. =)
    XO!
